Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 2026
Mitzpe is committed to making mitzpe.org accessible to readers with a wide range of abilities. Our analysis informs decisions made by government officials, military leadership, institutional decision-makers, and engaged readers across more than 80 countries. Accessibility is a precondition for that work.
Our Standard
We aim to conform mitzpe.org to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard widely adopted by United States federal agencies, European Union member states under the Web Accessibility Directive, and the broader public-sector and publishing community.

Conformance means we work to ensure the site is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for readers using assistive technologies — including screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice control, and screen magnification.
What We Do
-
Semantic structure. Pages use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and meaningful HTML elements so assistive technology can navigate the document the way a sighted reader would scan it.
-
Text alternatives. Images, icons, and non-text content carry alternative text where they convey meaning. Decorative imagery is marked as such so screen readers do not announce it.
-
Color and contrast. The Mitzpe brand palette is selected and tested to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios for body text and interface elements.
-
Keyboard navigation. All interactive elements — links, form fields, subscription controls — are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
-
Readable typography. Body text uses Inter Regular at a comfortable reading size; long-form pages cap line length for legibility; users may resize text in their browser without breaking the layout.
-
Predictable interaction. We do not use auto-playing media, surprise pop-ups, or motion that cannot be paused.
Known Limitations
mitzpe.org is hosted on Wix. Our editorial pages and templates are built and tested for accessibility, but certain platform-level controls are managed by Wix and may have limitations outside our direct configuration. We monitor these areas and work with the platform's accessibility tooling to address issues as they arise.

If you encounter a barrier on mitzpe.org that is not covered above, please tell us. Reader feedback is the most reliable way we identify problems.
Third Party Content
Some Mitzpe content is distributed through third-party platforms — most notably the Israel Brief Flash Brief, hosted on Substack at israelbrief.com. Accessibility on those platforms is governed by the platform operator, not by Mitzpe. We choose distribution partners who maintain reasonable accessibility standards, but we cannot guarantee third-party conformance.
Periodic Review
We review the accessibility of mitzpe.org at least annually, and after any significant redesign or platform change. When we find conformance gaps, we prioritize fixes based on reader impact and the severity of the barrier.
