Fellows & Advisors
Mitzpe's fellows are analysts, authors, and practitioners whose work anchors the institute's coverage, publishing program, and speakers bureau. Advisors contribute practitioner expertise and institutional presence — appointed for their operational knowledge and field networks, without a production requirement.

Fellow
Alon Penzel
Founding Fellow
Alon Penzel is an Israeli author, journalist, and spokesperson whose fieldwork produced the first comprehensive, verified documentary record of firsthand accounts from October 7. His book Testimonies Without Boundaries is a bestseller in nine countries, and Mitzpe Press publishes a new edition as the fourth title in its launch catalog. His ground-level sourcing anchors Mitzpe's commitment to firsthand evidence over secondhand narrative.

Advisor
Cheryl Dorchinsky
Senior Advisor, Community Advocacy
Cheryl Dorchinsky is the founding executive director of the Atlanta Israel Coalition and a 2023 recipient of the World Zionist Organization's Zionist Legacy Award. Her advisory work at Mitzpe anchors the institute's diaspora advocacy practice — grassroots coalition-building, countering antizionism in schools and progressive spaces, and multi-faith Zionist engagement. Dorchinsky leads Mitzpe's operational advisory practice for small Jewish nonprofits, formalizing the work she has done informally for years — tactical counsel to executive directors and board chairs navigating governance, programming, crisis response, and community-advocacy strategy.
